A Prime Candidate
Hard work. Dedication. Experience. These are qualities of a prime candidate for the position of a United States president. Many of the candidates running for president show these attributes, but one stands out the most in my eyes. This candidate is none other than Mitt Romney, former governor of Massachusetts. Romney shows the appearance of a US president more than any of the other candidates.
In Romney’s past, he has performed many tasks that many governors work hard to try to do and mostly fail. When Romney was elected, he worked hard to balance the budget of Massachusetts and was successful, closing a nearly $3 billion budget gap inherited when he took office, without raising taxes or debt. This is a feat that many governors do not achieve in their terms in office. Romney also helped improve the area that matters the most for the future, education. In 2004, he established the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship Program to reward the top 25 percent of Massachusetts high school students with a four-year, tuition-free scholarship to any Massachusetts public university or college; that reformed the education system in Massachusetts so that ambitious students could compete for high-paying jobs in the global economy (www.mittromney.com ).Romney will fight long, hard hours if he is elected president to maintain his appearance of a stupendous government official in the presidential position.
To show how Mitt Romney will fight for his cause in the presidential seat, he has formulated several plans for heated issues in the atmosphere of the United States. One topic that is especially heated in present politics is ending illegal immigration. Romney has formulated a plan for this situation that is taking place at the borders of the United States. His plan involves picking up where President George W. Bush has been loose in illegal immigration. Romney plans to follow through on Congressional commitment to build a physical and technological fence along the southern border and secure other points of entry. Romney will follow through with this plan, no matter how tough, just as he has as governor. This plan also includes not giving amnesty to illegals like the current president has, resulting in more jobs for needy Americans that are frequently taken by illegal immigrants (www.mittromney.com ). Romney will take charge as soon as he takes office to follow through in his plans as he did in his term as governor.
Another topic Romney has created a plan for is combating nuclear terrorism. This is a frightening topic that is presently debated in government since before the War on Terrorism. Romney has stepped into dangerous territory when combating this problem. One action to solve this dangerous problem is to call for tighter economic sanctions on companies that support Iran’s dangerous regime. This will cause the Iranian government lack the resources to create nuclear weapons and ultimately stop their nuclear weapon campaign. This topic is in desperate need of solving before Iran uses the nuclear warheads against the United States to destroy countless innocent families and civilians. This plan also includes protecting Israel’s right to exist at the same time by coaxing the Palestinians to confront Iran with the nuclear terrorism issue and stop the Arab-Israeli conflicts (www.mittromney.com). This shows Romney’s peaceful side for stopping war in the world and also his religious side for maintaining the Bible’s request to protect Israel. Like before, Romney has the potential to complete this task, like other problems he has solved in the past, and to further promote world peace.
Mitt Romney has accomplished many tasks that many governors could not and cannot. If Mitt Romney is elected president, he will do what he always has done as governor for years. Romney also will solve the hardest problems first that other presidents have pushed to the side for future presidents. Romney’s hard work, dedication, and experience make him a prime candidate for the position of president. If someone wants an extaordinary president that will work long, hard hours to solve many tough problems, Mitt Romney is the right choice; the choice is clear, Mitt Romney for president. Hard work. Dedication. Experience.
