“Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton” is an organized, disciplined, and systematic manager determined to be our 2008 President of the United States of America, and “has become the open and accessible candidate--sharing beers with reporters, taking endless questions from voters at campaign events and showing rare glimpses of emotion.” (Leibovich) With Hillary Clinton as President the change being produced will be recognized by all ages, genders, and races. Hillary will thrive to improve family responsibilities between parents and children, as well as, enable young adults to have an opinion on important political or economical issues occurring throughout the world.
In the world today, some families are struggling from “long-term caregiving responsibilities” because “with a growing elderly population, many working parents are finding themselves in the ‘sandwich generation,’ facing big challenges to provide care not only as ‘working parents’ but as ‘working children’ for their own parents as well.” Families have been paying ridiculously, increasing amounts over the years, and most are retrieving money from their retirement savings and health care coverage to care for them. To solve this, Hillary Clinton will improve the quality of nursing homes for elders who deserve to feel like they are young again by “tripling federal support for nursing home ombudsmen programs, tackling persistent abuses and new challenges in the long-term care industry, strengthening our nursing and direct care workforce, and requiring CMS to provide clear, comprehensive data on the Nursing Home Compare website such as, up-to-date and accurate nursing home staffing levels and all information about repeat offenses that CMS compiles.” Furthermore, Clinton will offer a new $3,000 caregiving tax credit to “benefit at least 50,000 Iowa seniors, people with disabilities and their families,” provide a new long-term care insurance tax credit which will benefit “at least 125,000 Iowan seniors and near-retirees,” increase support for unpaid family caregivers, ensure paid family leave by 2016 which can “impact 1.1 million workers in Iowa who do not have paid family leave,” guarantee access to sick days for all Americans that can “impact 600,000 Iowa workers who currently do not have sick days,” and step up support for child care. Besides balancing family responsibilities, Hilary Clinton will also be accountable for allowing young adults to express their personal opinions more openly. Clinton wants “to hear from young voters about their concerns and encourage them to participate in this incredible process.” She believes that with the help of young adults change will be made in the White House. Clinton has already taken action by involving young adults in “a roundtable with four undecided voters ages 18 to 25 on the campaign bus…fielding a range of questions on the most pressing issues facing young people in New Hampshire.” By learning the issues that face young people today Hillary Clinton will reach for higher educations above high school. She will work her hardest to help those who want to go to college and become successful in life. (…Clinton Reaches Out to Young…voters)
Even though Hillary Clinton is a strong-willed woman that may be hard to accept, she will make a difference in this country and throughout the world. With Clinton as President we can be assured that we will be safe and in extremely good hands of a determined leader. A leader is a motivator, evaluator, teacher, encourager, action taker, conscious builder, decision maker, and sets examples for everyone. Hillary Clinton has all the qualities of a leader and will be the best leader as the President of the United States of America in 2008.
