Political Essay
In the 2008 presidential election, many candidates are preparing themselves to take on the role of being the leader of the United States. Candidates from all backgrounds of life, with differences in ways of thinking, and differences in morals and values are fiercely grabbing at a chance to prove themselves as a trustworthy and honorable person to guide and direct America into a better future. I believe if the American people want an honorable and trustworthy person as the leader of this great nation, Mitt Romney is “true strength for America’s future” (mittromney.com).
Mitt Romney is well qualified to be an important figure of our country. “Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has been widely recognized for his leadership and accomplishments as a public servant and in private enterprise” (mittromney.com). Romney attended Harvard Law School, Harvard Business School, and Brigham Young University, receiving highest honors in every field he took part of. Mitt Romney also has resided over the Salt Lake City Olympics Committee- which was “one of the most successful Olympics in our country's history” (mittromney.com)- has taken part in several charitable organizations, and has served not only as a governor, but also several other government organizations in the past years.
Romney would not only run our country as a symbol of freedom and hope with his many skills and years of experience as a leader, but would also stabilize our economy, just as he did when he was elected governor of Massachusetts in 2002. Romney contributed to a “dramatic reversal of state fortunes and a period of sustained economic expansion” (mittromney.com). Romney eliminated waste, stimulated economic growth, and transformed deficits into surpluses, all without raising taxes.
“In 2006, Governor Romney proposed and signed into law a private, market-based reform that ensures every Massachusetts citizen will have health insurance, without a government takeover” (mittromney.com), a health plan that is greatly needed in the United States today.
Mitt Romney is highly qualified to aid a country in need. He has experience in leadership, business management, and carries skills that will help move America along a productive road, just as the American people have seen him do in the past. “Mitt Romney is true strength for America’s future” (mittromeny.com).
