Know where to go!
Once you turn 18 and register to vote, how do you actually go about it? Well, first you have to know where to go. Find out where your polling place is at www.awod.com/election. This is a cool site where you can register online. The SC Election Commission Homepage is where you can find out all about voting in South Carolina.
If you move away for a short period of time, for example, to go to college or join the military, the easiest thing is to register where your parents live and vote using an absentee ballot. Find out all about how to get and use an absentee ballot at www.state.sc.us/scsec/absent. Students can register to vote where they attend college but they have to establish that they are a legal resident of that community and that they intend to live there permanently. An absentee ballot is the easiest way.
