Ready to Vote

When you turn 18, will you be ready to vote?

Why Bother?

Because you can
Before the 26th Amendment to the Constitution 18 year-olds could fight in the Armed Forces but couldn't vote. Take advantage of your rights!
Because just sitting there is stupid
Don't like what's going on? Stop complaining and do something about it!
Because issues affect youth
Lots of the decisions politicians make - waging war, paying for health care, funding education - have a big effect on youth. Stand up for yourself!
Because the kids need you
What about your little brothers and sisters? Do it for them!
Because you don't want to be a stereotype, do you?
People say youth don't care. Show them they're wrong!
Because you're off to a good start
In 2004 youth voters had the largest gains in turnout. The increase was greatest among the youngest voters, 18-24 year olds. Keep up the good work!
